primarily focuses on investment holdings, whilst our subsidiaries
involves in diverse industry. Country Heights’ total assets employed are
estimated at RM 2.4 billion, and investments exceeding RM 99 million.

Highlands Resort
Our distinct proficiency in selecting location and experience in
developing innovative concept has constantly appreciated our development
value by multiple folds, i.e. Country Heights Kajang has appreciated
over 1070% to date in value since launching. Moreover, Country Heights’
signature development is Mines Resort City, where successfully we
transformed the world’s largest open cast tin mining lake into
world-class golf course, luxury homes and Malaysia’s unique tourist
attraction.
History
Country Heights Holdings Berhad is founded by Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka
Lee Kim Yew and was officially incorporated on the 10th of May 1984
under a private limited company, initially under the name of Kurniata
Sdn Bhd. Kurniata Sdn Bhd changed its name to Mojilee Sdn Bhd on 5th
November 1987. Subsequently on the 17th January 1991, the name was
changed to Country Heights Holdings Sdn Bhd. On 29th June 1993, Country
Heights Holdings Berhad was converted to a public limited company and
adopted its present name. Country Heights Holdings Berhad was listed on
the Main Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 18 February
1994.

Country Heights was incorporated.
- 1986
A global recession brought about the October crash. And the
Malaysian economy took a major nosedive.
- 1987
In the wake of a painful recession, Country Heights pioneered the
concept of country living in Malaysia with the launch of Country
Heights Kajang. A near worthless rubber estate was transformed into
the “Beverly Hills of Malaysia.”
- 1990
From a scarred and derelict wasteland, the world’s largest open cast
tin mine was transformed into The Mines Resort City, Malaysia’s most
breathtaking landmark. The Mines Resort City was carved out
beginning with the construction of Mines Wonderland.
- 1994
Country Heights Holdings Berhad was publicly listed on the main
board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. The Mines luxury golf
home bungalows were launched.
- 1995
Country Heights Villas, Kajang was launched, making the mark of
Malaysia’s very first Mediterranean Waterfront homes.
- 1996
College Heights Garden, Pajam was launched, developing Malaysia’s
first academic township.
- 1997
The year saw the majestic completion of the rest of the components
of The Mines Resort City – Mines Waterfront Business Park, Palace
Beach & Spa, Mines Shopping Fair, Palace of the Golden Horses and
Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Center. The Mines
Resort City played host to several international events. This same
year, the Asian financial crisis struck. Country Heights was one of
the few stable companies that drive through the crisis successfully.
- 1998
The ExCeL Exhibition and Conference Center project in London took
off when Malaysia was still hit by the Asian economic crisis in
1998. It was made possible by Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew’s intervention and
recapitalization. Country Heights was appointed Official Flagship
Hotel for XVI Commonwealth Games.
- 1999
Mines Golf Club hosted World Cup Golf and Women’s World Cup Golf
where Tiger Woods. The Mines Resort City hosted the World Formula
One.
- 2000
Country Heights introduced Borneo Highlands Resort, the world’s
first rainforest holiday homes and golf course situated 1000 meters
above sea level on the border of Kalimantan, Sarawak. Mines Golf
Club hosted Women’s World Cup Golf.
- 2001
Amid shrinking consumer confidence following the September 11, 2001
attack in the World Trade Center in New York, Country Heights
Damansara was successfully launched using CHIPI investment scheme.
Priority registrants at the launch netted RM 150 million in sales.
- 2003
The double blow of the war in Iraq and the SARS crises have had a
negative impact in the leisure, travel and tourism industries by
fueling fear, discouraging bookings and delaying investment plans.
- 2004
Country Heights Holdings Berhad undertakes a comprehensive
restructuring exercise to put the Group on a stronger footing. The
restructuring, which encompasses four corporate exercises, is aimed
at unlocking CHHB’s underlying property development value,
streamlining businesses and addressing its financial obligations.
- 2008
Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew relinquished the 24 year Managing Director
position and re-designated as the Non-Executive Deputy
Chairman. Mr. Mark Rozario was appointed the new Group Managing
Director. Despite the real estate bubble burst and sinking
subprime issues in the financial industry, Country Heights have
successfully introduced Mines Golf City, a 63 hole luxurious golf
course and homes.
